Bradenton is the seat of Manatee County, built on the south bank of the Manatee River where it opens into Tampa Bay, with the Anna Maria Island and Longboat Key beaches across the Intracoastal Waterway to the west. Water threads through the whole city: the river on the north, Wares Creek running through the historic neighborhoods, and Palma Sola and Sarasota bays to the west and south. Wares Creek has a long history of overflowing, and the World War II army camp that once stood beside it flooded repeatedly. Hurricane Helene's surge in 2024, which county officials called unprecedented, set a record water level at Port Manatee and pushed more than two feet of water into some Bradenton homes, with long-time residents seeing water indoors for the first time. Water Damage Florida provides 24/7 water damage restoration throughout the city.
We respond to Downtown Bradenton, the Village of the Arts, Wares Creek, Point Pleasant, Riverview Boulevard, Palma Sola Park, Washington Park and The Sandpile, and to the mid-century suburbs spreading west toward Palma Sola Bay. Call (888) 435-4769 and a crew will be on its way.
Bradenton's emergencies come from three directions. From the water: surge up the Manatee River and the bays, and Wares Creek rising into the older neighborhoods around it. From the sky: heavy tropical rain, which during Milton exceeded a foot in an isolated maximum near the city. And from inside the house: the water heaters, supply lines, condensate drains and cast iron drains that fail in mid-century ranches and 1920s bungalows alike. Milton also brought extensive wind damage to Bradenton and Ellenton, so many homes took rain through a damaged roof at the same time.
Our first visit is about stopping the spread and starting the record. Standing water is pumped and extracted, wet carpet and pad are removed, baseboards come off so the wall cavities can dry, and air movers and dehumidifiers are set before we leave. Photographs and meter readings are logged from the first hour so your insurance documentation is complete. Our emergency water damage page explains what to expect.
The historic districts near downtown, including Wares Creek and Point Pleasant, are full of 1920s and 1930s bungalows and cottages, and older riverfront estates line Riverview Boulevard. West and south of downtown the housing shifts to mid-century ranch homes and condos, and a notable share of all of it is seasonal. A wood-frame bungalow with plaster walls and pine floors dries very differently from a block ranch on a slab, and a condo loss has to be traced across units and documented for both the owner and the association.
We approach each building on its own terms. The loss is mapped with moisture meters and thermal imaging, materials that cannot be dried are removed, and the rest is dried in place with commercial dehumidifiers and air movers until readings are back to normal. For seasonal owners we coordinate access through a neighbor or property manager and report progress from a distance. The statewide water damage restoration service page describes every phase.
Bradenton has flooded from the bay, the river and the creek, and 2024 brought all of it in two weeks. Helene's surge put more than two feet of water into homes that had never flooded, hundreds of residents were rescued across the county, and the gauge at Port Manatee set a record. Milton followed with wind damage across Bradenton and Ellenton, hundreds of millions of dollars in property losses countywide, and an isolated rainfall maximum near the city of more than a foot. Wares Creek, with its long history of overflowing, carried that rain straight into the historic neighborhoods.
Surge is salt water mixed with whatever the storm carried, river and creek water is little cleaner, and flood cleanup treats both as contaminated. Drywall, insulation, cabinet bases and flooring that were submerged are removed, the slab and framing are cleaned and disinfected, and air scrubbers run while the shell dries. Do not enter standing water where outlets or appliances may be submerged; call us and stay clear. Our flood restoration service page explains how larger losses are handled.
Repair follows the drying log. In a surge-flooded ranch that typically means new drywall from the water line down, new baseboards, replacement cabinet bases, new flooring and paint. In the bungalow districts the priority is saving what makes the house what it is: original pine floors, wood trim and plaster can often be kept when drying began early, and where replacement is unavoidable we match the profile of the old work. Where wind opened a roof during Milton, interior repairs wait until the roof is sealed.
The repair scope is built from the mitigation record so it lines up with what your adjuster has documented, and storm damage is kept separate from pre-existing conditions. For homes along the river and the creek that have now flooded, we will raise any elevation or flood-zone permitting questions early so the rebuild can account for them.
Bradenton's bayfront humidity gives mold an easy start in any material left damp. After the 2024 storms we found growth in homes that were emptied and mopped but never dried behind the walls, in the crawl spaces under raised bungalows near Wares Creek, in ranch-home air handler closets, and in condos where a slow leak from the unit above went unnoticed by a seasonal owner.
Our mold removal process fixes the moisture source first, then contains the space, removes and bags the affected porous materials, HEPA-vacuums and cleans what remains, and confirms with readings that the cavity is dry before it is closed. We do not paint over it or fog a room and leave. Our mold remediation page and our guide to hidden mold after water damage go deeper.
A riverfront city with a creek through its oldest neighborhoods, a large seasonal population and a century of housing sees losses from all of these:

Each job follows the same eight steps, whether the water came up the river into a Riverview Boulevard home or out of a water heater in a Palma Sola Park ranch.
We respond throughout the City of Bradenton and the surrounding Manatee County communities, from the riverfront and the historic districts to the mid-century suburbs toward Palma Sola Bay and the island communities across the Intracoastal.
Our Bradenton crews also serve the neighboring cities and communities of Manatee County and the bay area. Many have pages of their own:
These steps are safe for most households and will limit the damage before the crew arrives.
For storm losses, the first 24 hours after a flood checklist and our hurricane water damage recovery guide cover what comes next.
Porous materials that sat in surge: drywall and insulation from the water line down, cabinet bases, carpet and pad, and most laminate or engineered flooring. Tile, terrazzo, concrete and framing can usually be cleaned and dried. We mark the water line and explain what stays before any demolition starts.
Often, if drying starts within a day or two and the water was clean. Original floors can be dried with mat systems and dehumidification, and plaster tolerates careful drying better than drywall does. Floors soaked in creek or surge water are harder, and we will tell you what the readings show before recommending replacement.
Yes. We dry the ceilings, attic insulation and walls that took rain, remove what cannot be saved, and schedule the interior repair to begin once the roof is sealed so the work is not repeated.
We coordinate access through a neighbor, relative or property manager, send photographs and readings as the job progresses, and handle the documentation with your carrier remotely.
Yes. We coordinate with building management, trace water across the affected units, protect common areas, and document each unit separately for the owners and the association.
Every affected material is metered against a dry standard for its type, and readings are logged daily. Equipment comes out when the log shows stable, normal readings, not after a fixed number of days.
